Emirates and Air Canada have announced that the Canadian national carrier’s operations at Dubai International Airport will relocate to Terminal 3. The relationship between the two airlines, which was established in 2022, has advanced with this most recent phase.
In June 2021, following the COVID-19 epidemic, Air Canada restored service between Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Dubai International Airport. Emirates and Air Canada established a codesharing arrangement as part of their strategic collaboration in July 2022. Passengers from Air Canada and Emirates can earn reciprocal loyalty benefits on the Aeroplan and Skywards programmes thanks to the codeshare partnership, which has subsequently expanded to more than 42 itineraries. The cargo divisions of the two airlines collaborate, and Air Canada recently joined forces with flydubai.
As a result of the Canadian flag carrier’s recent move to Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport (DXB), which is the same terminal as Emirates, connecting passengers will be much easier. Those who qualify can also access Emirates’ first-rate lounges by strengthening their connections. On Wednesday, 26th July, Air Canada will make its inaugural landing at Terminal 3, and the airline has already set up its premium and economy check-in desks.
Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, said: “We are delighted to welcome Air Canada to Terminal 3 in Dubai, which marks another step forward in our strategic partnership to deliver even more value to travelers. Co-locating at T3 means Air Canada customers can enjoy a smooth connection experience when transiting in Dubai on Emirates’ global network, and those eligible can enjoy access to Emirates’ signature Business Class Lounges and other hub facilities in Dubai prior to their flight. Working closely with Air Canada, we hope to further enhance travel experiences and offer even more convenient connectivity for travelers.”
Mark Galardo, Vice President of Network & Revenue Planning at Air Canada, added, “Air Canada’s new home at Dubai International Terminal 3 is an important milestone which underscores the significance of our strategic partnership with Emirates and the importance of our flights between the UAE and Canada. We extend our sincere appreciation in both Emirates and Dubai Airports for their partnership in facilitating this move, which will greatly benefit our customers.” – “In addition to Air Canada’s customers benefiting from seamless onward connections in the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent with our codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates, they will also enjoy an elevated airport experience throughout their journey.”
Emirates recently started operating daily flights to Montreal beginning this month. The route is already highly well-liked, according to Adnan Kazim, CCO of Emirates. He believes this is due to the airline’s distinctive brand and its extensive worldwide network.
Flights started on July 5 and are a supplement to Emirates’ Airbus A380 aircraft to Toronto. In addition to operating flights from Toronto, Air Canada will begin operating a service between Vancouver and Dubai in October. Beginning on 30th October Air Canada will operate its Boeing 787 Dreamliners four times a week between the two cities.
