RwandAir to Offer Daily Direct Flights from Heathrow to Kigali

Beginning at the end of October, the national airline of Rwanda, RwandAir, will offer daily direct flights from Heathrow to Kigali. RwandAir now runs four flights per week between Heathrow and Kigali, but starting on 29th October the service will be increased to daily.

Since May 2017, when it began offering flights from Gatwick to Kigali via Brussels, the African airline has operated out of London.

In 2020, it shifted to Heathrow, and in late 2022, it started offering direct flights to Kigali.
The new flights went on sale today, with round-trip prices from London starting at £587 in economy and £2,199 in business class, taxes and fees included.

The airline’s schedule permits connections from Kigali to other locations in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

RwandAir chief executive Yvonne Makolo said: “London is an incredibly important market for RwandAir so we are incredibly excited to be adding direct daily flights from our home in Kigali to Heathrow.

“Having first launched flights to the British capital in 2017, we have continued to build our presence following strong demand from customers in the UK and Africa.

“These new daily direct flights will offer customers the convenience and connectivity they have long asked for.”

The flight will leave Heathrow at 8:00 and land in Kigali at 7:00 the following morning. The return flight will leave at 23:35 and land in Heathrow at 6:00 the following morning.

On the trip, RwandAir will fly an Airbus A330 with up to 244 seats in economy and 30 lie-flat seats in business class. The airline continues a three-days-per-week service between Brussels and Kigali and began direct flights between Paris Charles de Gaulle and Kigali in late June. In November, the World Travel & Tourism Council Summit will be held in the capital city of Rwanda.
