A new winter route from Manchester to Kittila in Finnish Lapland has been made available for purchase by low-cost airline easyJet (14th July).
Families looking for a holiday getaway this winter will be catered to by the new service. It will also entice clients who want to explore the area’s icy forests, winter sports enthusiasts, and people hoping to see the Northern Lights.
Beginning on 16th November, flights will run twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays throughout the winter.
Located in the northern Arctic circle, Kittila is roughly 95 miles north of Roveniemi.
Kittila has been added after a new service from Manchester to Rovaniemi in Lapland was introduced last year.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “As an entirely new destination in our network, this new connection means we are able to build on our offering from Manchester for those in search of winter breaks by providing customers more choice to enjoy an even greater range of destinations this winter at fantastic low fares.
“Lapland is perfect especially for families with children looking to visit Father Christmas, winter ski lovers and all those wishing to explore this magical Arctic destination.”
Robert Smith, aviation director at Manchester airport, said: “We know a family trip to Lapland is on many of our passengers’ Christmas lists so it’s fantastic to see easyJet launching a service from Manchester to Kittila this winter.
“This new service demonstrates easyJet’s commitment to providing outstanding choice year-round to passengers flying from Manchester.”
