Wizz Air will increase its fleet at Luton Airport by one more plane, bringing its total to twelve.
The introduction of the brand-new Airbus A321neo, according to the low-cost carrier, demonstrates its “unwavering confidence in the UK market.”
Wizz will be able to provide more than 12 million tickets annually from Luton thanks to the additional capacity.
Flights to the Egyptian resorts of Hurghada and Sharm el Sheikh, as well as Tirana, Prague, Reykjavik, and Amman, will be more frequent beginning this winter.
The arrival of the new aircraft is expected to result in the creation of 40 new positions for the airline, bringing the total number of employees in the UK to close to 800.
Wizz Air UK’s managing director, Marion Geoffroy, stated: “The addition of a new aircraft marks a significant investment for the UK, and we’re pleased to solidify our market-leading position at London Luton.
“Sustainability is a priority for us, so we are only investing in the latest technology aircraft to help meet our environmental commitments.
“We are seeing increased demand for more flights to destinations across Europe. With this new aircraft increasing our capacity at Luton, we are now providing more seats than ever for passengers to travel to and from London.”
