The debut of Radisson Hotel Sonamarg has increased the Radisson Hotel Group’s footprint in Jammu & Kashmir. The Group now operates seven hotels in the area. Sonamarg is a popular destination for explorers and environment lovers because of its stunning surroundings, which include a scenic valley, rivers that are home to trout, lush meadows, and breathtaking peaks.
Depending on the time of year and traffic, it takes three hours or less to drive to the Radisson Hotel Sonamarg, which is surrounded by snow-capped mountains, from the Mandi Bus Station or the Srinagar International Airport. For those who are driving their own cars, there is plenty of parking available.
Zubin Saxena, Managing Director & Area Senior Vice President – South Asia, Radisson Hotel Group stated that “With a stronghold of 25 years in India, we are consistently expanding our portfolio and ensuring quality hospitality for travelers across the country. We foresee Radisson Hotel Group’s next phase of growth through a diversified presence and to translate this goal, we bring Radisson Hotel Sonamarg to Jammu and Kashmir. Our brand-new hotel will give guests a greater experience in one of India’s most-preferred holiday and leisure destinations. Additionally, the current summer break presents a perfect opportunity for tourists from across the nation to visit the town and admire its beauty. We are confident that our guests will find great value in choosing our hotel which will offer a memorable stay to them through our distinctive service excellence.”
Modern, roomy, and large rooms and suites are available at the hotel, and each has been carefully created for convenience and comfort. Deluxe rooms, junior suites, and executive suites, all of which offer views of the nearby mountains and valleys, are among the several room types available to guests. Individual climate control choices are available in each of these rooms, allowing you to maintain a pleasant temperature even in subfreezing conditions outdoors.
There has been a deliberate attempt to increase the number of healthy options on the menu in consideration of the preferences of modern travellers. The hotel’s on-site restaurant, Riwayat, serves a specific menu for kids in addition to the chef’s signature dishes influenced by Kashmiri flavours, like grilled trout or mutton rogan josh. Its all-day dining area offers a delectable buffet and a la carte options to suit everyone’s interests, and guests can dine elegantly by the cosy fireplace or unwind outside on the terrace with breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape.
Additional benefits of staying at the Radisson Hotel Sonamarg include easy access to numerous tourist destinations, including the Thajiwas Glacier, Zojila Pass, Baltal Valley, Sarbal, Tabletop Trek, and many more. Adventure pursuits including Himalayan climbs, snowmobiling, rock climbing, skiing, and sledding are also accessible from the hotel. Visitors can also go to historic sites like the Kargil War Memorial.
“It’s a matter of great honor for us to collaborate with the Radisson Hotel Group for another hotel opening. Our partnership commenced in 2017 with the opening of Radisson Srinagar and together we aim to create an exceptional guest experience that raises the benchmark for the industry. We admire the commitment and professionalism of RHG, and I have no doubt that this collaboration will result in significant growth of the hotel sector in Jammu and Kashmir.” said Mr. Waseem Mushtaq Gani, Managing Director and Mr. Naseem Mushtaq Gani, Managing Director of Grand Mumtaz Resort 2.
