The family-owned and operated 134-room boutique hotel redefines luxury in the Dallas market with its five distinctive food and beverage concepts, panoramic rooftop views, and world-class design.
In the Harwood District of Dallas, the eagerly awaited Hôtel Swexan debuts. The boutique resort was established with a keen eye for detail, service, top-notch amenities, and design, fusing its Swiss background with Texan warmth.
“We are thrilled to officially open this new hotel and share the next chapter of Dallas luxury with the world,” says General Manager Julian Payne. “We look forward to providing our visitors with a top-tier level of service that defines the Hôtel Swexan name, fostering connections, creativity, and showcasing what makes Dallas truly special.”
The hotel was built by Harwood International, and renowned Japanese architect Kengo Kuma was responsible for designing its exterior.
“Our partnership with Harwood International started with Rolex and we are excited for our latest building with Harwood No. 14, as well as our facade design for Hôtel Swexan,” said Kengo Kuma of Kengo Kuma & Associates. “Others are on the horizon.”
The hotel’s interior decor was inspired by some of the biggest cities on earth, as well as the owners’ travels and love of art and design, drawing on their favourite customs and aspects from many cultures.
The 134 guest rooms of Hôtel Swexan, which blend classic European design with attractive Texas warmth, have a residential feel and come equipped with five-fixture bathtubs, Le Labo items, and floor-to-ceiling windows that provide panoramic views of the Dallas cityscape. There are eight distinctive suites in the hotel.
While Stillwell’s is the featured chef at Hôtel Swexan, there are five other options available. Dedicated to Hallie Stillwell, the female hero for whom it is named, Stillwell’s is a daring Texas steakhouse that is open to both visitors and residents. The restaurant will only offer HWD, or Harwood Premium Beef, a new sourcing niche that has been in development for years. When it comes to libations, Barbara Werley, a female Master Sommelier, has created Stillwell’s top-notch wine list.
Library at Babou’s and Babou’s, a two-story library that morphs into an unexpected, exuberant cocktail lounge with DJ sets, are other food and beverage concepts. Isabelle’s is a tea hideaway with a Parisian-inspired patio that becomes a nightly martini bar. Pomelo and Leonie, two energising restaurants serving foreign cuisine and drinks only available to hotel guests, are located on the rooftop.
Throughout the hotel, experiences, and facilities are meticulously stacked at each turn. A 75-foot infinity pool is located on the 20th level, a large event area is set aside on the sixth story, and a cutting-edge fitness centre is found on the eighth floor.
The Dallas-based Harwood Hospitality Group’s first hotel venture is the Hôtel Swexan. The group already owns and runs a number of renowned eateries in the 19-block Harwood District, including Happiest Hour, Saint Ann Restaurant & Bar, and Dolce Riviera.
