IHG Hotels & Resorts and Cannes Film Festival Unite for Carlton Cannes’ Grand Reopening

The 76th Cannes Film Festival and IHG Hotels & Resorts worked together to commemorate the Carlton Cannes’ return as a Regent Hotel and as a part of IHG’s luxury and leisure portfolio. A number of celebrations were held over the past few days at the Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, to mark the hotel’s grand reopening following a two-year closure for substantial renovations.

The list of attendees also includes, among others, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta Jones, Helen Mirren, Fan BingBing, Uma Thurman, Mads Mikkelsen, Naomi Campbell, and Brie Larson. The official launch party of the Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, was held the following evening, and renowned guests John C. Reilly, Twiggy, Maxime Bouttier, Andrew Scott, and Freddy Carter were among them.

Celebrities from the worlds of film and television have long made their homes at The Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, making the illustrious venue an obvious option to host the Cannes Film Festival’s Official Opening Dinner after the eagerly anticipated debut of Jeanne du Barry.

In a performance titled “Follow The Sun,” choreographed by renowned artistic director Lionel Hun in collaboration with creative teams from Image and Auditoire, the outside of the Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, was inundated with light and music on Wednesday night. The legendary Carlton Cannes’ famed façade was illuminated for six minutes during the performance, which showed the progression of the sun throughout the day from dawn to night.

The official launch party for the Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel, which was attended by over 300 guests for a cocktail party and gala dinner to mark the hotel’s spectacular reopening, took place at the same time as the light show. VIPs enjoyed an evening of wonder set against the backdrop of the historic building and breathtaking views of the Cannes Bay at the property’s famed Beach Club as the historic facade of the hotel came to light with the amazing show of light and sound.

The brand’s Asia flagship, Regent Hong Kong, is joined by the first new Regent hotel in Europe, the Carlton Cannes, a Regent Hotel. Together, they usher in a new era for Regent, along with Phu Quoc, Shanghai, and Chongqing. Three more locations will follow in 2023, including Regent Bali Canggu, Regent Shanghai on the Bund, and Regent Santa Monica Beach, the first American property for the redesigned brand.
