For guests, Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown creates a genuine neighborhood stay experience by drawing on its lengthy and varied history.
The debut of Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown has helped Hotel Indigo, a luxury and lifestyle brand under IHG Hotels & Resorts, expand its footprint in the Midwest. Rising above the city skyline in the center of Downtown Minneapolis, the hotel welcomes visitors to discover the true Star of the North with easy access to the region’s hip stores, cutting-edge culinary scene, and renowned locations like the Orpheum Theatre and First Avenue.
Similar to how no two neighborhoods are the same, neither are any two Hotel Indigo locations. The Great Lakes Management Group-owned Hotel Indigo Minneapolis Downtown was painstakingly created to capture the spirit of individualism and optimism of the neighborhood in which it is located. The 218-room hotel is based in the original Northstar Center, which was constructed in the 1960s close to a Greyhound bus terminal and connected some of the liveliest downtown blocks to create a “city within a city” that was crucial to the redevelopment of Minneapolis’ downtown.
Stained glass, photos, and other relics from the original Northstar Hotel are among the subtle tributes to old Minneapolis that can be seen throughout the hotel today. Minneapolis is a diversified, world-class metropolis that was once an industrial mill town on the Mississippi River.
The Hotel Indigo brand is well known for its bustling restaurants and bars that are neighborhood treasures and attract both tourists and residents. The French-inspired food at Star Bar & Bistro, an American bistro owned by local restaurateur Kim Bartmann, entices customers. Local suppliers like Larry Schultz Organic Farm, DragSmith Farms, and Peterson Craftsman Meat supply ingredients for the dishes. Craft drinks with local spirits from Norsemen Distillery and Tattersall Distilling Company accentuate the menu.
A fitness center with views of the city and weight- and cardio-training equipment, as well as a business center and market in the lobby, are additional hotel features. The neighborhood’s renowned theaters and music venues, like State Theatre and The Armory, as well as attractions like Loring Park, the Sculpture Garden at The Walker, and U.S. Stadium Bank.
Additionally, guests will have access to IHG One Reward, a best-in-class loyalty program that is focused on providing its customers with richer benefits and more opportunities to earn than ever before on its new mobile app.
