Lewie the Lion: Holland America Line’s New Mascot Honors King Willem-Alexander’s Birthday

A press release from Holland America Line stated that Lewie the Lion, a brand-new mascot for its ships, would debut on 27th April in honor of King Willem-Alexander’s birthday.
The new mascot pays tribute to King’s Day, which is observed as a national holiday in the Netherlands. Lions have historically been revered by the Dutch as a national emblem of bravery and strength.
In the late summer of 2023, Lewie the Lion will make his debut in the onboard gift stores of the Holland America Line fleet.
