On 30th June 2023, Qatar Airways will start operating four times a week, on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, flights to Casablanca and Marrakesh. The Boeing 787-8, which has 254 seats total—22 in business class and 232 in economy class—will be used to conduct the flight.
Passengers can now connect to over 160 destinations on the airline’s broad global network via the world-class Hamad International Airport (HIA) with the addition of Casablanca and Marrakesh. The award-winning airline is still dedicated to Morocco and has resumed service between the two cities, enhancing global connectivity, customer excellence, and cross-cultural ties. Qatar Airways will run four weekly flights to and from two Moroccan airports during the summer of 2023.
His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group, said: “The Qatar Airways’ flights to Casablanca and Marrakesh solidify our commitment to the Moroccan market and meet a strong demand for connectivity to these two beautiful and historic cities. The FIFA World Cup 2022TM brought Qatar and Morocco together through football and bolstered our cultural and economic cohesion. Connecting through our Hamad International Airport offers passengers an unparalleled 5-star travel experience to over 160 destinations and continues to grow and expand our network.”
The largest city in Morocco, Casablanca, is renowned for its beauty and modern elegance in contrast to its classic architectural character, drawing tourists from all over the world to this genuinely classic metropolis. On the other hand, Marrakesh has a more conventional look, amazing scenery, booming souqs, and a lengthy history.
Flight QR1397 operated by Qatar Airways will leave Hamad International Airport at 09:15 and arrive in Casablanca at 15:10 before departing Casablanca at 16:30 and continuing on to Marrakesh at 17:25.
The Qatar Airways flight QR1398 will leave Marrakesh at 18:55 and arrive in Casablanca at 19:45 local time. It will then leave Casablanca at 21:20 and arrive in Doha at 06:30+1.
Qatar Airways will run Marrakesh as a seasonal tag until September 11th, along with Casablanca during the summer. This expands the possibilities accessible to passengers of Qatar Airways, who can already take use of a daily codeshare service operated by Royal Air Maroc between Casablanca and Doha.
