With the launch of JW Marriott Hotel Madrid, JW Marriott, one of 30 remarkable hotel brands in Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, debuts its first property in Spain. The opulent new hotel is situated in the center of the city, close to prominent art institutions and theaters, and adjacent to the iconic, vibrant, and busy Puerta del Sol in the Canalejas neighborhood, which is known for its rich cultural heritage.
The hotel is intended to provide a new level of luxury that encourages visitors to find balance and be present in their bodies, minds, and spirits. Every element of the hotel has been carefully chosen to inspire guests to think deeply and recharge. Mindful moments can be found and created anywhere, whether it’s admiring the breathtaking city views from the privacy of their guestroom terrace, relaxing in the botanical haven of El Patio JW Garden, where the ingredients used in the restaurant and cocktail bar are grown, or indulging in the city’s gardens with a picnic of local produce organized by the hotel.
The new 139-room hotel, which is rooted in the brand’s conviction that genuine luxury is having the time and space to focus on what matters most—oneself—offers visitors an exciting urban hideaway in the heart of the Spanish city. The majority of the rooms on the upper levels offer spacious patios with breathtaking views of the city below.
In addition to a sizable, fully furnished fitness center and wellness area, the hotel has created unique in-room experiences that let visitors embark on a tailored wellness journey while traveling. In addition to free access to video workouts and meditation techniques via QR codes, all rooms have yoga mats so that visitors can take care of their physical wellbeing. Every bathroom is transformed into a personal spa with the bath menu, which features customized light sets and exclusive soundtracks for sensory treatment for all five senses.
Once one of Madrid’s oldest perfumeries, the structure itself has a special history and evokes the spirit of the city. The Rockwell Group was entrusted with the hotel’s architecture and design, and they came up with an attractive concept employing natural materials and a restful color scheme. The preservation of specific components, like the 19th-century wrought iron columns that can be found all throughout the property, allows for traces of the building’s historic history to be seen.
The vivid scents of violets, tuberoses, carnations, and roses that permeate Madrid are integral to the city’s soul. In an effort to create a totally holistic health experience that stimulates the senses, JW Marriott Hotel Madrid has partnered with the Spanish Academy of Perfume. This collaboration pays homage to the building’s distinctive legacy and the city’s sensual past.
During check-in, each visitor is given a traditional tea with a violet or rosemary smell in a handcrafted ceramic cup. After choosing from a list of five smells, guests will have that aroma implanted in their clothing. On the nightstand are stories that will help you unwind before bed about Madrid and its scents. Visitors are welcome to peruse the exhibition of vintage perfume bottles, books, and essences in the lobby at their leisure. There are olfactory workshops offered in collaboration with the Academy for individuals eager to continue their fragrance exploration, providing unique chances for visitors to discover more about the city and their personal scent preferences.
The establishment has created a dining and drink concept that enhances and discreetly reinvents regional cuisine in collaboration with renowned, Michelin-star chef Mario Sandoval. ‘QU’ gives the pinnacle of sophisticated Spanish flavor using ingredients cultivated in the JW Garden and purchased from neighborhood suppliers. Each meal nourishes more than just the body and engages all five senses to create a unique dining experience that reflects the spirit of Madrid. It is served on wares that are inspired by the beauty of perfume containers. A creative cocktail menu that features regional ingredients and recognizable flavors like chocolate, rosemary, and lemon allows visitors to sip and experience the spirit of the city.
