Norwegian Cruise Line To Launch a New Meet the Winemaker Series

Norwegian Cruise Line introduced a new Meet the Winemaker series. In this program, winemakers and culinary specialists share their knowledge with a group of passengers onboard the cruise line’s ships.

“Our Meet the Winemaker series is back and better than ever,” said Harry Sommer, president and chief executive officer of Norwegian Cruise Line.

“Every year we aim to elevate this exclusive experience and I believe we’ve done just that as we enter the program’s seventh year with an impressive guest lineup. These unique sailings offer a rare opportunity to get one-on-one exposure to esteemed winemakers and their collection of wines, all while visiting multiple destinations and enjoying an unforgettable vacation aboard our innovative fleet.”

Via lectures and other activities, the Meet the Winemaker series offers wine lovers and foodies the chance to interact with winemakers and other experts. The event includes meet-and-greets on board the ships, interactive cooking demonstrations, wine-paired meals, and wine tastings. Wines that are often only accessible by visiting the wineries can also be purchased by visitors.

Emma Walker, a Master Blender of Johnnie Walker who oversees the Johnnie Walker Whisky Specialist team situated in Menstrie, Scotland, will be a special guest on this year’s series. On 17th September 2023, she will embark the Norwegian Prima with passengers for the inaugural Johnnie Walker cruise of the corporation. The voyage will take place in Northern Europe.

Also, Antonio Hidalgo, a seasoned winemaker, will travel to Alaska aboard the Norwegian Encore with Chef Ashley Breneman, executive chef at Certified Angus Beef.

During the Norwegian Encore’s 9th April 2023, Eastern Caribbean journey, Miguel Torres, a pioneer of growing Cabernet Sauvignon in Spain, will make his debut.

Aaron Sanchez, a well-known celebrity chef, Salvatore Ferragamo, Michael Mondavi of the Michael Mondavi Family Estate, Gérard Bertrand, and other well-known individuals are among the hosts.
