On 13th February, Premier Inn, the largest hotel chain in the UK, inaugurate its first hotel in the Lake District National Park.
With the addition of the 71-room High Hill hotel in Keswick, Premier Inn now has six locations and more than 400 reasonably priced hotel rooms in and near the Lake District National Park.
The newest “Standard” bedroom from Premier Inn as well as 12 “improved” Premier Plus rooms will be available to visitors at the Premier Inn Keswick. The most affordable rates are always offered at www.premierinn.com, with rates for a Standard Room starting at £61 per night.
To administer the new Keswick hotel, Premier Inn has hired a total of twenty-four new team members, all of whom are permanent employees of Whitbread, Premier Inn’s parent business. Additionally, the organization is now hiring for two back-of-house positions.
Karl and the new site crew collaborated with the West Cumbria Canals and Rivers Trust to perform some volunteer conservation work in late January as a part of their organized training program.
The group donated more than 70 hours of labor in total and collaborated with Trust staff to plant a few fresh hawthorn and hazel saplings amongst the mature trees and remove plastic tree guards from young trees planted along How Beck near Thirlmere.
Additionally, the team is raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospitals (GOSH), a national charity partner of Premier Inn.
Based on its most recent occupancy rates, Premier Inn projects that 30,000 of its visitors will stay at the 71-bedroom Keswick hotel each year. Together, these business and leisure travelers are expected to add £1.8 million in extra visitor spending each year as they dine out, enjoy local attractions, and generally make the most of the area.
