Last week, the Spanish low-cost airline Vueling declared its aim to expand into the UK market by adding London Gatwick to its network. Gatwick’s increase comes as Vueling plans a busy summer 2023 timetable.
Vueling will offer flights to Alicante, one of Spain’s biggest tourist attractions, as part of its summer schedule. Vueling anticipates starting the route on 28th March of this year. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, an Airbus A320 is most likely to fly the 1,430 kilometres from Gatwick to Alicante.
The addition of this new route would enable British tourists to visit the infamous vacation destination of Benidorm while basking in the sun on the Costa Blanca. Due to Vueling’s competitive pricing in the British market, travelers may expect to find sun, sea, and sangria on their tables.
Vueling currently provides travelers with flights from Barcelona to London Gatwick. According to the airline, one in every four passengers flies to and from Barcelona with Vueling. Given that easyJet also flies to Barcelona and has a dependable base in Gatwick, that is a sizable number of passengers.
