Maybourne Hotel Group to Debut its Fourth Hotel in London

This winter, the Maybourne Hotel Group will debut its fourth hotel in the capital with a venture in Old Barrack Yard, a section of the Belgravia Conservation Area.

The Emory will become the sixth hotel in the group’s portfolio before the end of the year, joining Claridge’s, The Connaught, and The Berkeley as some of London’s most illustrious operators.

The new 60-suite hotel will be located next to The Berkeley and have nine floors of accommodations created by interior designers including Patricia Urquiola, Alexandra Champalimaud, Andre Fu, Pierre-Yves Rochon, Remi Tessier, and others. Rigby & Rigby will create the penthouse on the top floor.

The Emory’s remarkable “sails” construction is supposed to fly beyond the treetops of Hyde Park, according to the architectural concept of the late Richard Rogers and Ivan Harbour of the company RSHP.

Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten is also partnering with The Emory and will use his Manhattan location to bring his ABC idea of “fresh, local, and mindful cuisine” to London for the first time.

The hotel also promises a rooftop reserved exclusively for hotel guests. Additionally, four floors of health space, including a 22-meter pool, will be located underground.

The Maybourne Riviera and The Maybourne Beverly Hills are two additional foreign hotels included in the group together with this hotel.

Claridge’s is currently enjoying the benefits of its project to build a five-story underground spa and wellness area, which is a first for the hotel chain, as well as the removal of two storeys from the top of the grade II listed building to make way for three newly constructed floors with 72 rooms and suites.

The BBC documentary The Mayfair Hotel Megabuild, which was filmed over the course of six years as the project progressed, now tells the tale of the enormous multimillion-pound undertaking.
