The Broadmoor, a Forbes Five-Star sister company of Windstar Cruises, and Sea Island served as the inspiration for two themed suites on the Star Legend.
According to a press release, the two additional specialty suites will then be added to Windstar’s two other Star Plus Class yachts, the Star Breeze in the spring of 2023 and the Star Pride in 2024.
Windstar President, Christopher Prelog said: “Unlike hotel brands that have begun offering yacht-style cruises, this is a unique example of a cruise line bringing a separate land-based experience to sea.”
“It connects and cross-sells a diverse and seemingly unrelated set of travel experiences that have shared ownership.”
The Broadmoor Suite and The Sea Island Suite, two former Classic Suites aboard the Star Legend, have undergone renovations. The Broadmoor Suite is more classic, while The Sea Island Suite has beautiful elements that mirror the Addison Mizner architecture of the building.
“The overall look is quite coastal and airy – colors like sea-glass green are used throughout,” said Prelog.
“In The Broadmoor Suite, you’ll find a traditional space with classic furniture, floral motifs, white trim with gold finishes, and wide crown molding.”
The Star Legend also displayed a recent painting painted by Miami-based artist Alex Nuez. In a partnership with Fountainhead Arts to bring fresh works to sea, Windstar has added a third and final mural to each of its three Star Plus Class boats.
In order to produce the new mural “First Light,” Nuez took the Star Legend from Lisbon to Miami.
