For the next summer, Loganair is extending its network out of Newcastle Airport.
Following a robust travel rebound in 2022, about 200,000 seats will be available starting in March.
To enable higher frequency, a second Embraer ERJ-145 regional jet will be based at the north-east airfield.
Aberdeen will once again receive two daily flights in addition to an additional connection via Aberdeen to Oslo.
A daily flight from Newcastle to Southampton will increase from two to three.
Flights to Exeter have increased from three to as many as five per week, while Newquay and Bergen will now be served twice weekly.
Up to five flights per week between Newcastle and Stavanger were operating before the epidemic.
Luke Lovegrove, chief commercial officer, said: “This bumper schedule for 2023 underlines our commitment to Newcastle with our biggest ever programme for the city, offering customers more choice of destinations, frequency and capacity than ever before.
“It has been a very positive year for Loganair at Newcastle and we are excited to see that success continue into 2023.”
Airport aviation development director Leon McQuaid added: “This biggest ever capacity increase by Loganair is a great vote of confidence in both the airport and the region, and further strengthens our partnership.
“The investment will provide more choice for passengers flying from Newcastle, create more jobs at the airport and across the wider area, and increase opportunities for the attraction of inbound tourists to the north-east.
“Loganair also provides connectivity to important business destinations, so this announcement will further boost the growth in business travel.”
