Next summer, Aer Lingus will begin service between Dublin and Cleveland, with connections available from nine UK airports.
When it launches on 19th May, the new four times weekly service, which will become the only direct European connection to the Ohio city, will be the carrier’s fifteenth transatlantic route from Ireland.
Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Southampton, and Leeds Bradford will all offer connections for UK residents, with prices starting at £249 roundtrip per person.
Customers from the UK can take advantage of US immigration pre-clearance, which enables them to enter the US as a domestic passenger. The new route will be operated by an Airbus A321neo, Aer Lingus’ most environmentally friendly long-haul aircraft.
Reid Moody, Aer Lingus’s chief strategy and planning officer, said: “This is a significant announcement for Aer Lingus as we deliver on our ambition to grow our transatlantic network.
“The commencement of a new route, accompanied with further network connectivity, is an exciting milestone for the airline during a critical time of recovery for our business.
“The new service to Cleveland not only provides a direct connection to Ireland but connections to over 20 popular European destinations via our Dublin hub.”
