This winter, a “semi-private” jet service will fly skiers from the UK to the Alps.
From the Hampshire business aviation hub of Farnborough airport, Aero, a US-based company that raised $65 million in funding last month, will travel to Geneva and Sion. From December, there will be flights to Nice as well.
The company’s 16-seat Embraer ERJ135 aircraft begins at nearly $1,000 for one-way travel.
With connections to both Ibiza and Nice and island hopping between Ibiza and Mykonos, Aero’s fleet increase was made possible by “high demand” for routes across Europe during the summer, according to Aero.
The winter flight schedule is planned to provide practically daily service to ski destinations in both France and Switzerland.
Then, travelers may get to Verbier, Crans Montana, and Chambery in less than an hour, as well as Gstaad, Zermatt Saas Fee, and Meribel in less than two hours.
By utilizing private terminals, the company asserts to provide a “radically better” leisure travel experience for a portion of the cost of traditional jet chartering.
In the US, Aero will operate flights from and to Los Angeles to San Francisco, Aspen, Sun Valley, and Los Cabos in Mexico.
Uma Subramanian, the CEO, said: “We are excited to offer our guests more options to fly with Aero.
“We will continue to provide our guests with an unparalleled way to travel and we look forward to bringing the Aero experience to new markets in the coming months.”
