Anantara Veli Maldives Resort to Reopen in December

The Anantara Veli Maldives Resort will open its doors to visitors once more in December after a protracted nine-month makeover.

On 1st December, the adults-only establishment will reopen with a new top room category, as well as redesigned eateries and a spa.

A spokesman said: “All villas have been fully renovated in a traditional-meets-contemporary tropical style, using a natural palette of wood and stone, cool fabrics and rattan finishes and the latest in high-tech comforts.”

A brand-new room type, the 148-square-meter Beach Pool Villa has sliding glass doors that open onto a private pool, with the beach and ocean just a few steps away. Each of the six Beach Pool Villas has a dedicated Villa Host.

A new wellness concept that enables visitors to reserve a Wellness Villa experience will be unveiled with the reopening of Anantara Veli.

It includes Ayurvedic spa amenities, an earthing mat for meditation, light, sound, and fragrance therapy in their villa, herbal teas, nutritious smoothies, and wholefood snacks in the wellness minibar. Every stay in a wellness villa comes with a wellness evaluation upon arrival, daily yoga or exercise classes, a culinary lesson focused on healthy eating, and a 20% discount on spa services at the Balance Wellness by Anantara Spa.

Ayurveda treatments, epigenetics, IV therapy, and a new hammam are among of the spa’s wellness services. The local naturopath, nutritionist, personal trainer, yoga instructor, and lifestyle coach personalize multi-day health retreats.

The resort offers hammam treatments in collaboration with the upscale skincare line marocMaroc. Visitors may also try 111Skin products, which are favored by stars like Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Aniston.

Along with the recently refurbished modern Japanese eatery Origami and the oceanfront Dhoni Bar, the new restaurant Cumin serves food from the Indian Ocean.

All of the island’s eateries will use produce from the new on-site hydroponic farm, the first vertical farm in the Maldives with organic, year-round harvests. A few examples of produce are various varieties of lettuce, tomatoes, microgreens, herbs, and capsicum.

Male International Airport is 30 minutes away by speedboat from the resort.
