From its home in Abu Dhabi, Etihad Airways is expanding its network to include a third Chinese city.
Service will begin in the port city of Guangzhou the following month.
According to Etihad, it will conduct long-haul passenger services to the top three Chinese gateways for the first time since the pandemic began.
Subject to regulatory permissions, twice-weekly flights are scheduled to launch on 10th October using a two-class Boeing 777.
Guangzhou joins the Shanghai and Beijing services that were relaunched in July 2020 and three months ago, respectively.
With two weekly flights to Guangzhou and weekly flights to Beijing and Shanghai, Etihad will operate four flights each week between Abu Dhabi and China.
Martin Drew, senior vice president of global sales and cargo, said: “We are proud to offer our guests a third destination in China as Etihad Airways begins flights to the pivotal and historic port city of Guangzhou.
“As well as being a modern and rapidly growing city itself, Guangzhou has excellent connections with the Greater Bay Area.
“Our twice-weekly service will further address the huge demand for passenger travel between the UAE and China, as well as provide new cargo capacity, building on the formidable people and business ties between the two markets.”
