Robotron, a first-of-its-kind rollercoaster-at-sea experience, will be available on MSC Cruises’ newest ship, MSC Seascape. Robotron combines all the thrills of a high-speed ride with a customized DJ experience.
In the DJ booth, which is hung in a gondola on a robotic arm that twists and turns in time with their mix, guests are seated behind the mixer by Robotron. The rides are complemented by vibrant patterns, video projections, and an appropriate light show.
As riders dangle up to 53 meters over the edge of the deck and twist, turn, spin, and flip in sync with music, they get a clear 360-degree perspective of the horizon.
Riders can select their own level of adrenaline on the Robotron, which can hold up to three people at once.
In addition to the MSC Formula Racer F1-style simulator and the immersive 3D gaming experience, Seascape will debut in December with two brand-new VR experiences: a 360-degree VR flight simulator and a VR motorbiking adventure.
Robotron, according to Brandon Briggs, senior vice president of onboard revenues at MSC, will be the first robotic amusement ride to ever be installed on a cruise ship. It will set a “new level of pleasure” with its immersive, personalized experience that is specific to each rider.
“Our additional entertainment options with elements of virtual reality, special effects and simulators will ensure unforgettable experiences that leave guests in awe,” he added.
