The Covid-19 testing and onboard face mask restrictions have been loosened by Celestyal Cruises.
Beginning on 26th August, visitors who are 12 years of age or older must provide proof of a booster shot in addition to their other vaccinations (if their original vaccine course was completed more than 270 days prior to embarkation).
Instead of the previous requirement of the test being done 24 hours before to embarkation, all guests are now required to have a certified negative Covid antigen test taken no more than 48 hours prior to embarkation or a negative PCR test taken no more than 72 hours prior to embarkation.
People who have recently recovered from Covid can present a doctor’s note together with the positive test result that corresponds to the guest’s positive diagnosis and the negative test result that corresponds to the date of recovery.
Masks, which were previously compulsory in all indoor spaces, are now only strongly advised for use indoors and outside in crowded situations.
“In accordance with updated guidelines from the European Healthy Gateways, CLIA and Greek health authorities, we are pleased to announce the further relaxation of our health protocols,” said Celestyal Cruises chief commercial officer Leslie Peden.
“The more flexible requirements provide our guests with the option of testing prior to departing for Greece as well as more flexibility when it comes to masking onboard.”
