Play, a low-cost Icelandic airline, has announced the start of flights to Washington Dulles, confirming its fourth UK-US connection.
On 26th April 2023, flights from Stansted and Dublin will launch, flying via Reykjavik with a roughly 90-minute layover in each direction.
UK one-way flights start at £169 till 26th August. Dublin fares start at €149. Prices are good for travel through 15th June 2023. Typically, lead-in prices cost £199 or €179.
The primary hub in Washington is the fourth-largest passenger market from the US to Reykjavik, according to Play, making it “a crucial potential.”
Birgir Jonsson, the CEO of Play, remarked: “From autumn 2022, Dulles International airport will be connected to Washington DC via the Silver Line of the Washington Metro, which will allow passengers to reach DC within 50 minutes for just $6, leaving more money to spend in the city’s great museums, restaurants, and galleries.”
Play will add Dulles (IAD) to its current flight schedule to Baltimore/Washington International (BWI).
By the spring of 2019, Play will have ten single-aisle Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft in its fleet.
