Cape Verde Modified Its Covid-19 Entry Requirements for Visitors

Cape Verde, a winter sun hotspot, has modified its Covid-19 immunisation requirements for foreign travellers.

If a traveller has had both doses of a Covid vaccine and a booster shot at least 14 days prior to departure, the archipelago off the west coast of Africa now deems them to be fully protected. Visitors may also receive the Janssen vaccine and the booster in one dose.

Both minors under the age of 12 and all adults are subject to these restrictions. Under-11 travellers are free from screening and immunisation requirements.

The Foreign Office (FCDO) acknowledged the modification in its updated travel advice for Cape Verde.

Visitors who are considered completely immunised are exempt from quarantine and the Covid test, but they must show documentation of their immunisation status upon checking in for their flight to Cape Verde.

Cape Verde will accept the printed copy of the Covid recovery and vaccination record from the United Kingdom. However, digital confirmation of vaccination status will not be accepted by the destination.
