Following the most recent guideline modification by the United Arab Emirates, children under the age of 16 will no longer be required to undergo a Covid-19 PCR test prior to traveling to Dubai or Abu Dhabi.
With the impending winter sun season, the lowering of the testing standards will help the family market in the UAE.
According to current regulations, visitors to the UAE are exempt from doing a pre-departure PCR test if they have “serious disability,” are completely immunized, have a Covid recovery certificate dated within 30 days of departure, or are fully immunized.
When checking in for a flight to the UAE, passengers who are not fully immunized or who lack a recovery certificate must instead provide the results of a negative PCR test that was performed within 48 hours before departure.
If a negative PCR test is necessary at their final destination, transit passengers flying through the UAE are also required to give one.
Travelers may still be forced to submit to a PCR test upon arrival in the UAE, and they will need to isolate pending the results of this test. Those who test positive could need to spend at least 10 days in self-isolation at a government building, hospital, hotel, or other types of prearranged lodging.
