Later this year, as part of its expansion of services to Australia, Emirates will bring its flagship A380 back to Perth.
With around 500 seats available on each trip, the expansion will improve the carrier’s seating capacity between Dubai and Perth as of 1st December.
While the EK421 flight from Perth departs at 10:20pm and arrives in Dubai at 5:25am the following day, the EK420 flight from Dubai departs at 2:45am and arrives in Perth at 5:20pm the same day. The daily Boeing 777-300ER service between Perth and Dubai will be replaced by the daily A380 service.
The decision was made in reaction to a reportedly “substantial rise” in traveller reservations to and from Australia, with “high demand” in all cabins.
Eight of Emirates’ top 10 destinations for Australian travellers right now are located in European locations, which has been the main generator of demand for the airline.
The UK sits at the top of the list, with Italy, France, Greece, and Ireland rounding out the top five. The final five places on the list—Spain, Lebanon, Germany, the Netherlands, and Turkey—make up the top 10.
