Explora Journeys Unveiled Design of Explora I Suites

The Explora I, the company’s first ship, is slated to make its first trip in May 2023, and Explora Journeys has unveiled the design of its Ocean Terrace Suites.

The premium travel company describes the lead-in category suites as “among of the largest in the industry,” covering 35 square metres and including a seven square metre private terrace with daybeds and a dining space.

All suites also include a walk-in closet with a vanity space for two people, a Dyson hairdryer, heated bathroom floors, binoculars, wireless bedside charging, a customised minibar, an espresso maker, a kettle, and a free refillable water bottle.

The Owners Residence, with a square footage of 280, is the largest suite aboard the ship.

There are 461 suites, penthouses, and apartments with ocean views, each with an own terrace and floor to ceiling windows.

According to the cruise company, the suites’ architecture combines “Swiss precision with modern European craftmanship” and embodies its “concept of generating an ocean state of mind, owing to light, colour, space, seclusion, and connection with the sea.”

The line’s founders, the Aponte Vago family, were hailed by chief executive Michael Ungerer for his “long-held goal.”

He stated: “Marrying the family’s impeccable taste and innate understanding of luxury inspired by their personal travel style, the interiors of Explora I have been designed with their enduring dedication and incredible eye for detail, along with their vision for the future, weaving a thread of their passion through each touchpoint.

“We aspire to elevate the ocean experience and luxury travel to new heights, whilst being respectful to the ocean, environment and the destination and cultures we discover, to ensure we leave a positive legacy for generations to come.”

In its first year of service, Explora I will call at 132 ports in 40 distinct nations, including two that have “rarely” been visited by a cruise ship before: Kastellorizo in Greece and Saint Pierre in Martinique.
