Azamara Removes Pre-Embarkation Test Requirement

Starting on Monday, 25th July, Azamara will no longer require pre-embarkation testing.

In ports where it is still necessary due to local laws, the cruise line will make passengers take a Covid test.

Azamara will still require proof of Covid vaccination and encourages travellers to get tested “at their leisure…to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable trip experience.”

Carol Cabezas, the president, said: “The easing of our testing policy marks a step in the right direction towards a return to normalcy for the travel and cruising industry.

“Cruising is one of the safest ways to travel, and our existing health and safety protocols onboard will ensure peace of mind for our guests and crew as we move forward.”

Passengers 12 and older must be completely immunized at least 14 days prior to sailing, according to Azamara.

The line stated that visitors will still be able to test Covid-19.

As the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) prepares to discontinue its Covid-19 program for reporting coronavirus incidents on ships, Princess Cruises has stated that it can accommodate up to 10% of unvaccinated passengers on “most sailings.”

A representative representing the company said: “Princess Cruises rigorously follows guidelines from governmental, health and regulatory agencies and organisations throughout the world.

“These guidelines are developed in consultation with leading medical and health experts and have proven very effective as we have resumed operations across our fleet.

“We continue to adapt and evolve our vaccination guidelines based on changing circumstances.”
