A new property will be launched by Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Xi’an, China, in 2026.
The new hotel will be a part of a mixed-use development project, and the hotel chain has teamed with Chinese development company Spring Garden Company Limited, a division of Vanzhong Group.
According to the brand, the 250 bedrooms and suites of the Four Seasons Hotel Xi’an will be a “resort-style getaway” with access to two restaurants, a lobby bar, a rooftop bar, two ballrooms, and adaptable meeting and event space.
Additionally, there will be a spa, a hairdresser, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a space outside for Tai Chi and exercise, and a free kids’ club.
Xi’an served as both the beginning of the historic Silk Road and the imperial capital of China.
As one of China’s most industrialized towns, the city is today known as the Digital Silk Road and is home to a variety of temples, pagodas, and antiquities that are preserved as part of the Unesco World Heritage Site.
The famous Muta Temple that originally stood on the property during the Sui and Tang dynasties is known as Muta Temple Relics Park, which the Four Seasons Hotel Xi’an will be next to.
Bart Carnahan, president of global business development and portfolio management at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts said, “Xi’an is a dynamic destination known for its history, culture and incredible growth grounded in the city’s flourishing tourism and technology sectors.”
“We are thrilled to continue expanding Four Seasons footprint in China alongside our partners at Vanzhong Group. This exceptional new hotel will offer guests a luxury respite in the bustling city of Xi’an that effortlessly meets the needs of today’s business and leisure travellers.”
Chairman of Vanzhong Group, Wuliang Li added: “A resort-style hotel set within a thriving city-centre will be the first of its kind for Xi’an and its visitors.
“In a city with such a rich history and leading commerce ecosystem, welcoming Four Seasons and their curated luxury hospitality offering to Xi’an will serve to further ignite the bright future that lies ahead.”
For those coming from within China, the property will be reachable via high-speed rail and train and will be around 45 minutes by automobile from Xi’an Xianyang International Airport.
