Celebrity Cruises officially resumes operations with the Celebrity Infinity’s voyage to the Caribbean.
The 63 ships in the fleet of Celebrity Infinity’s parent company, Royal Caribbean Group, will all be returning to service on the sailing to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale, which will be the ship’s first trip in 881 days.
To honor their crews, every ship in the fleet will sound its horn in celebration.
Celebrity Cruises resumed operations in June 2021 when Celebrity Edge sailed from a US port for the first time in 15 months as a result of the epidemic.
The Celebrity Infinity is prepared to set sail on an Eastern Caribbean cruise for seven nights that will make stops in the Bahamas, Turks & Caicos, and the Dominican Republic.
After that, throughout the summer, the ship will rotate between itineraries in the Eastern and Western Caribbean.
The company’s president and CEO, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, said: “This sailing not only caps an incredible journey but sets a course for a whole new world of infinite possibilities for our brand and for cruise travel.
“The future is very bright, thanks to the time, effort and love that the team has poured into bringing our entire fleet back.
“Seeing the beautiful Celebrity Infinity sail out of Florida will be an emotional moment for everyone at Celebrity Cruises, especially our crew who have waited so long to welcome guests aboard once again.”
She added: “Our full return would not be possible without the tireless effort and unwavering commitment of our crew. They are the very heart and soul of the Celebrity Cruises’ experience and I am so happy and proud to finally reunite our entire global family at sea.”
