AmaWaterways plans to add a second ship to the Nile in order to “meet the growing demand” for the river line’s Egypt sailings.
The river cruise line currently operates the 72-passenger AmaDahlia, which debuted in September 2021, but AmaLilia will join the fleet in 2024.
Both ships will sail on the Secrets of Egypt & the Nile cruise-and-land itinerary, which includes a seven-night round-trip river cruise from Luxor.
AmaLilia will be “thoughtfully designed with regionally inspired décor, spacious staterooms and suites, and a specialty restaurant included in the river cruise fare,” according to the line.
Executive vice-president and co-founder of AmaWaterways, Kristin Karst, said: “Egypt is one of the most fascinating destinations in the world and we’ve seen such wonderful interest from both our loyal guests as well as new guests since we launched our first ship there in September 2021.
“We look forward to welcoming even more travellers to join us to experience the ancient wonders of Egypt.”
Further details about AmaLilia will be announced by the line soon.
