It has been confirmed that the United States will end its pre-departure testing mandate this weekend.
Travelers to the United States must currently provide proof of having tested negative for Covid-19 up to 24 hours before departure.
Currently, the rule applies to all travelers, regardless of vaccination status.
Several major US news outlets reported on Friday afternoon (10th June), citing a senior Biden administration official, that the mandate would expire at 12:01 a.m. on Sunday (12th June).
Every 90 days, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will review the need for a testing requirement, they added.
