MSC Cruises to Focus its 2022 Summer Program on Sustainability

According to MSC Cruises, the summer 2022 shore excursion schedule offers the “strongest ever focus on sustainability.”

MSC Cruises says it has focused its largest-ever summer shore excursion program – encompassing approximately 1,400 trips – on reducing the environmental effect of land-based tours as part of its commitment to foster sustainable tourism.

Additional electric and hybrid shuttle buses will be used to transport passengers from ports to points of interest in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Spain, and Sweden, and more low-carbon excursions, such as cycling, walking, and kayaking, will be provided.

In addition, the company is promoting its ‘Protectours,’ which include forest replenishment in Greece, organic rooftop farming in Copenhagen, and cleaning garbage from Adriatic Sea beaches.

MSC Cruises’ head of beach excursions, Marialuisa Iaccarino, said:
