Flyers can expect another unique Emirates travel experience as the airline debuts its comprehensive Premium Economy offering onboard and on the ground, as well as the announcement that it will begin selling this highly sought-after category on 1st June, 2022.
From 1st August, Emirates customers flying on popular A380 itineraries to London, Paris, Sydney, and Christchurch will have access to the new cabin class, which features sumptuous seats, extra legroom, and service that rivals many airlines’ business offerings.
Emirates is the region’s only airline with a Premium Economy class.
President of Emirates Airlines, Sir Tim Clark, said: “As with everything we do, Emirates Premium Economy will be exceptional in its class, with minute attention given to every aspect of the customer experience. Customers trading up from the Economy will be getting excellent value.
“Since we first introduced our Premium Economy seats in January 2021, the positive response and demand have been tremendous. We currently have six A380s equipped with this cabin class, which limits our initial deployment, but our intention is to offer this experience to many more markets across our network. This November, we will begin our retrofit program to install Premium Economy on 67 A380s and 53 Boeing 777s. At the end of the program, Emirates will have 126 aircraft fitted out with Premium Economy cabins, as well as our latest interiors across other cabins. It is a major investment to ensure our customers continue to have the best experience in the sky.”
Emirates Premium Economy is in a league of its own, providing an unrivaled distinctive experience.
Customers can expect a designated Premium Economy check-in facility at Dubai International Airport, or they can use one of the many simple self-service check-in kiosks located throughout the terminal to avoid lines.
Customers will sense the calm luxury of Emirates’ Premium Economy cabin as soon as they board. The cabin’s ambiance is defined by a wood panel finish comparable to Business Class, and each seat is designed to provide ideal comfort and support with 6-way adjustable headrests.
The cream-colored leather seats are 19.5 inches wide, have a large pitch of up to 40 inches, and recline 8 inches into a comfortable cradle position with plenty of room to stretch out. It also has calves and footrests for added comfort, as well as numerous other thoughtful features including in-seat charging ports and a side cocktail table.
Customers can relax under soft, sustainable blankets made from recycled plastic bottles, as well as nestle into the amply sized pillow, all of which are exclusive to Premium Economy. They can also replenish their supplies with the complimentary amenity kits, which come in recyclable, sustainable bags and feature things manufactured with recycled or sustainable materials.
Customers will be greeted with a welcome cocktail served in excellent glassware, with components inspired by Business Class. A selection of large meals cooked with seasonal ingredients and regional influences will be served on chinaware with stainless steel cutlery wrapped in linen napkins throughout meal service. A variety of beverages will be available, including premium wines and a sparkling Chandon wine. After meals, liqueurs and chocolates are also available.
On Emirates’ award-winning ice, each seat has a 13.3″ screen, one of the largest in its class, to experience the unrivaled choice of up to 5,000 channels of music, movies, TV, news, and other material.
The Premium Economy cabin is placed at the front of the main deck on a four-class Emirates A380, with 56 seats configured in a 2-4-2 configuration. Up to 24 Premium Economy seats will be put in a designated cabin segment between Business and Economy on the Emirates Boeing 777.
