Next month, the United Kingdom will get a new route to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s largest city and financial center.
Air Astana will begin operating a twice-weekly service to and from Heathrow Airport on Thursdays and Saturdays, using an Airbus A321LR aircraft with economy and business class seats.
It includes a stopover in Aktau, Kazakhstan’s westernmost city on the Caspian Sea, en way to Almaty, Kazakhstan’s easternmost city. Passengers will be able to connect to return London flights from Aktau through a domestic flight from Kazakhstan’s capital, Nur-Sultan.
Heathrow services will depart at 6.05pm and arrive in Aktau at 4.10am. The next flight from Aktau to Almaty will leave at 5.10 a.m. and arrive at 9 a.m.
Return flights leave Almaty at 10.45 a.m. and arrive in Aktau at 1.05 p.m., with a 2.05 p.m. flight to Heathrow departing Aktau and arriving at 4.05 p.m.
Air Astana relaunched its direct Nur-Sultan service from Heathrow last month, and it now operates twice a week.
