Havila Voyages has received its second ship, the Havila Castor, which will begin operating in Norway next month.
It’s the younger sister of the existing Havila Capella.
Havila Voyages’ chief executive, Bent Martini, called the delivery of Havila Castor a “great day” for the line.
“The ship we have delivery of today is much closer to operational readiness for the coastal route Bergen-Kirkenes than Havila Capella was when she was delivered,” said Martini.
“The ship is going to Bergen for preparation for the first round-trip, and even though time is short, we will be ready for the first voyage.”
Martini revealed that a cancelled round-trip on Havila Capella had caused “some tough days” over Easter.
Havila’s third and fourth vessels, Havila Polaris and Havila Pollux, are also being built at the Turkish shipyard and will be delivered later this year.
