Marriott Bonvoy, one of Marriott’s 30 hotel brands, has announced the inauguration of its first hotel in Spain’s capital.
The Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Madrid, is located in the Chamber neighborhood, adjacent to cultural sites such as the Sorolla Museum, Teatros del Canal, and Andén 0 Metro Station, a refurbished tube station with an exhibition room.
The structure, which comes from the 18th century and was once the Duke of Santo Mauro’s house, has been completely refurbished by renowned interior designer Lorenzo Castillo.
There are 49 guest rooms in three buildings, including 10 suites with views of the grounds. Natural elements such as stone, marble, and wood, as well as leather, midnight blue velvet, and silk, have been used to renew the rooms.
The celebrated chef Rafael Pea runs the flagship restaurant La Biblioteca, as well as the outside terrace El Garden for relaxing eating and the El Bar for cocktails and nibbles.
The Georgian English Library, The Chinese Lounge, and an indoor pool are among the amenities available to guests.
The second phase of the improvements, which will begin in summer 2022, will include a new spa and fitness center.
Marriott International’s vice president of luxury brands for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, Candice D’Cruz, stated: “Travellers are increasingly looking for meaningful, unique experiences that connect them to the heart of the locale when discovering a city and Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid allows our guests to embark on a journey back to the 18th-century, elevated with modern amenities and impeccable service.”
“We are thrilled to introduce The Luxury Collection brand to Madrid, and we look forward to welcoming guests as they discover this timeless and historical world-famous city.”
