Up to 31st December 2021, EasyJet Holidays will offer free cancellations for all Spanish destinations.
Those who can no longer meet the new entrance requirements for Spain by showing confirmation of vaccination status for youngsters aged 12 to 17 can cancel and receive a full refund under the updated policy.
The operator stated that it was reacting to the uncertainty generated by recent modifications to entry rules.
Customers traveling to all destinations between 18 and 31 December 2021 can now change or cancel their holiday fee-free or receive easyJet vacations credit.
Customers can do so until Sunday, 5th December at midnight. This was already in place for bookings departing before the 17th of December.
All other customers traveling in 2022 and beyond will be covered by the easyJet holidays Protection Promise, which will require them to pay their balance 28 days before departure and give them the option to cancel and keep their deposit as easyJet holidays credit if they cancel 28 days before departure.
EasyJet Holidays Director of Customer and Operations, Matt Callaghan, said: “We know just how special travelling at Christmas and New Year is for our customers, so we want to make sure we do the right thing.
“We’re introducing this new flexible policy to support customers with teenagers on their bookings who may not be able to provide proof of full vaccination which travelling to Spain currently requires.
“We’re also extending our cancellation for credit or free amend options for all other customers set to travel over the festive period.”
