Plan for £100 Million Golf and Spa Resort in Angus, Scotland Revealed

The latest proposals for a £100 million golf and spa resort in Angus, Scotland, have been submitted to the local council, marking one of the country’s largest hospitality investments in recent years.

The Angus, a new luxury resort in Dundee and Angus, will be the region’s first five-star hotel and is expected to bring in £40 million to the local economy when it opens.

The initial concept, which received planning clearance in 2017, has been updated to become a “best-in-class” hotel, with 175 guest rooms, 160 residences, and ten luxury lodges.

A trademark Darren Clarke golf course, clubhouse, and golf academy with driving range will be available, as well as a rooftop sky bar and 1,900 square meter spa and leisure facilities.

Mike Forbes, owner of Forbes of Kingennie (renowned for its luxury lodges and golf course), designed the resort, which will be built on 300 acres of land on the Shank of Omachie.

The Angus Council is likely to make a decision in early 2022, with the building set to begin in the summer if the new designs are approved, with a projected opening date of 2024.
