Following the launch of virtual interlining cooperation with kiwi.com earlier this month, passengers at Dortmund Airport now have a wider range of transfer alternatives.
For travelers traveling through airports that are not traditional hubs, the OTA and travel technology business build virtual linkages between carriers and other transit providers.
The airport is providing a Smart Pass transfer service for travelers who book on kiwi.com and transfer at the airport as part of the cooperation with Dortmund.
Passengers can use the fast lane at Dortmund Airport thanks to the online booking tool, which guarantees the desired connection.
According to Kiwi.com, this cuts the required transfer time in half and expands the number of available connections.
The head of airport partnerships, Patrick Zeuner, said: “We’re glad to see that more and more airports, including Dortmund Airport, recognize the increasing number of travelers that prefer self-connecting itineraries as they bring them more choice.
“Our Smart Pass service helps those travelers by providing an efficient connection service and helps the airports to get back to pre-pandemic numbers through growth in passenger traffic.”
Guido Miletic, general manager of Dortmund Airport’s airport services, marketing, and sales, added: “The main advantage for our passengers is that Kiwi.com combines different airlines into one itinerary, through Dortmund, and it can be booked in just one step.
“Then at Dortmund Airport, the passengers can profit from effective connections and short distances. That works nicely together.”
