Hilton Reveal Status Plans for Next Year and Extends Status Until March 23

Hilton has emerged from the Covid problem by providing ample support to its members, such as rolling overnights and extending status. Due to rolling overnights from last year, I had already requalified for Diamond before this announcement.

Hilton confirmed that status will be extended until 23rd March, making them the first of the major chains to do so. Hopefully, this will inspire other chains to take action. This year, I’m really hoping Hyatt will extend status to me because I’ve been unable to book many nights due to the US being out of limits.

In the meanwhile, Hilton has revealed a number of alternative measures to assist members until travel resumes as usual.

Which include:

• Points will be extended until 31st December 2022, giving members additional time to redeem them for free nights at over 6,600 Hilton hotels, special Hilton Honors Experiences, live events, charitable donations, and other benefits.
• To make these rewards more accessible in 2022, the 2022 conditions for obtaining Status, Milestone Bonuses, and Status Gifting will be relaxed.

Requirements for Status Tiers in 2022

• Seven nights, three stays, or 17,500 Base Points earn you a Silver rank.
• At 28 nights, 14 stays, or 52,500 Base Points, you’ll earn Gold status.
• At 42 nights, 21 stays, or 84,000 Base Points, you earn Diamond rank.

Bonuses for achieving milestones

• At 30 nights, you’ll get 10,000 bonus points.
• For every additional ten nights, you’ll get 10,000 more points (after 30 nights).
• At 60 nights, you’ll receive a one-time bonus of 30,000 points

Gifting of Elite Status

• After 40 nights, you can give a friend or family member a one-time gift of Gold status, which can be upgraded to Diamond status at 70 nights.
