Israel Tourism to Relaunch its Group Tourist Pilot Program

From 19th September, the Israel Ministry of Tourism aims to relaunch its tourist pilot program, enabling organized tour groups of 5-30 travelers from ‘green, yellow, and orange’ countries to visit Israel.

Within this program, there is no limit on the number of foreign tourist groups that can visit Israel.

Foreign visitors must show documentation of a second vaccine approved by the Israeli Ministry of Health during the previous six months, or proof of receipt of a third immunization.

Tourists must also present a negative PCR test taken up to 72 hours prior to arrival, as well as a PCR and serological test when they arrive at Ben Gurion airport.

“After a break in the initial rollout of the programme due to the acceleration of the Delta variant in Israel, we are delighted to take the first step in opening our borders to international visitors once more,”

Sharon Bershadsky, Director of the Israel Tourist Office in the United Kingdom, said:

Over 2,000 tourists from the United States and Europe visited Israel as part of the pilot program, which began in May 2021.

There were no Covid cases found among the groups, according to the report.

Individual tourists are expected to be allowed into Israel in the near future.
