Vaccination required for “Seacation” Passengers aboard Princess Cruises UK cruises

Passengers on Princess Cruises’ UK coastal sailings this summer will be required to be vaccinated, following in the footsteps of sister brand P&O Cruises.

The announcement came less than 1 day after rival MSC Cruises announced its passengers aboard a series of British Isles cruises will not require a vaccination when it commences sailing on 20th May 2021.

Between 31stJuly and 28th September, Princess Cruises plans 22 departures from Southampton by Regal Princess and Sky Princess for UK residents only. Having travel insurance cover in place will be a condition of travel.

In contrast to P&O, Princess Cruises plans to stop in UK ports such as Liverpool, Belfast, and Greenock on itineraries ranging from three to seven nights.

Princess Cruises said: “Given the advanced progress of the UK vaccination programme, and strong expressed preference on the part of guests for this limited series of UK coastal cruises, these sailings on Regal Princess and Sky Princess will be for UK resident Covid-19 vaccinated guests only.”

To protect everyone on board, passengers and crew will be obligated to follow stricter health and well-being measures.

From 31st July to 23rd September, Regal Princess will operate 14 UK cruises. Sky Princess will operate eight sailings from 30th August to 28th September.

The ship serves as both a means of transportation and the destination itself. Guests can take advantage of numerous dining options, order food and drink to be delivered to them poolside using the MedallionClass app, and enjoy amazing entertainment both day and night.

These resort-style seacations provide an alternative to a traditional UK-based staycation and are an ideal opportunity to relax and unwind. The cruises are intended to appeal to both returning guests who are anxious to return to the MedallionClass ships and newcomers who want to try Princess for the first time.

Upgrading to all-inclusive with the line’s Princess Plus fare on these Seacation cruises will cost just £30 per person per day and include unlimited MedallionNet Wi-Fi, premium drinks and gratuities.

The all-inclusive three-night cruise prices start at £539 per person. The four-night cruise with up to one port of call will start from £599 per person and a seven-night cruise with up to three ports of call will start from £999 per person.

Princess Cruises said that cruises are always good value, but when you compare them to some of the UK staycation option prices that have risen substantially this year in response to market demand, a seacation will offer exceptionally good value.
