Austria has relaxed its admission requirements, making it unnecessary for visitors from the United Kingdom to self-isolate provided they are fully vaccinated.
According to an announcement on the Austria.info travel service, the UK is one of seven nations that are no longer considered “virus variant areas.”
Visitors from the United Kingdom entering Austria must now produce proof of vaccination, recovery from Covid infection, or a negative test upon arrival.
Except for minors under the age of 12 traveling with fully vaccinated adults, non-vaccinated British holidaymakers will still be required to quarantine.
Austria has been on the British green list since 8th August, according to the traffic light system for international travel, which means that tourists returning to the UK do not need to self-isolate if they have not been vaccinated.
Austrian hotels, restaurants, and nightclubs, as well as museums, culture, and leisure, are open, according to the Austria.info portal.
Visitors will be required to present either a negative Covid test or confirmation of vaccination/past infection in practically all public indoor and outdoor areas.
On public transportation and in other public places, face masks are mandatory.
