In 2023, Cunard will run two voyages on the Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the world’s first passenger circumnavigations. The voyages will visit many of the same ports as Cunard’s first world voyages on the ships RMS Laconia and RMS Samaria.
Colombo, Singapore, and Hong Kong will be among the stops on Queen Mary 2’s 102-night Centenary World Voyage, which will re-enact RMS Samaria’s 1923 world voyage.
As the flagship moves from Southampton via Asia, Australia, and South Africa, it will make overnight stops in Dubai, Sydney, and Cape Town. The cost per person starts from £11,499.
The Queen Victoria’s 101-night World Voyage will include stops in New York, Cabo San Lucas, the Panama Canal, Aruba, San Francisco, Honolulu, Hong Kong, Singapore, Manila, Colombo, Jordan and Naples. Prices start at £11,999 per person.
A series of unique parties and events will be held both ashore and on land, with entertainment and dining representing each of the world’s regions visited.
Both journeys are available in segments ranging from two to forty nights in duration.
With departures from Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, and Auckland, Cunard’s third ship, Queen Elizabeth, will sail around Australasia on a variety of two to 28 night voyages.
Cunard’s new programme of world voyages sailings can be booked from 17th March 2021.
Simon Palethorpe, president of Cunard, said: “Cunard pioneered the world voyage and a century later we’re as passionate about these very special voyages as ever.
“World cruise launch is always an exciting time for us and our agent partners which we expect will be especially the case this year as we celebrate 100 years of world voyages.”
