Bristol Airport Opens Covid-19 Test Service

Bristol Airport has teamed up with Katalyst Laboratories and Nuffield Health to provide a Covid-19 test service.

The private business, which began operations on 19th July, offers PCR testing with turnaround times of four hours or 48 hours, as well as lateral flow antigen tests with turnaround times of 20 minutes.

All tests are analyzed by Nuffield Health’s on-site laboratory, which uses Katalyst Laboratories, a government-approved provider of quick testing goods.

Passengers who need a test before or after their flight to meet quarantine regulations, as well as locals looking for a testing center for non-travel needs, can use the service. All testing is performed by skilled specialists who are outfitted with full PPE.

Bristol Airport’s head of customer services, Richard Thomasson, stated that all testing would be conducted. “highly accurate and meet the required standards for international travel.”

He continued by saying, “As we prepare to welcome more passengers to the airport, it is important that we can provide this facility to enable customers to easily access Covid-19 testing services before they fly.”

Katalyst Laboratories’ chief executive, Andrew Wheeler, said: “We welcome the opportunity to work in partnership with the Bristol Airport team and we look forward to supporting the travel industry is getting back on its feet as travel restrictions ease.”

Nuffield Health’s medical and charity director, Dr. Davina Deniszczyc, said: “We are pleased to partner with Katalyst Laboratories to utilize our clinical expertise at Bristol Airport’s new Covid-19 testing service for people traveling and for those who want to take a test for peace of mind.” 

The Nuffield Health Covid-19 testing center is on the first floor of the terminal, near security, and is distinct from the NHS Covid-19 testing center in the ‘Silver Zone’ car park.
