British Airways to commence trial of digital health passport mobile app from 4th February

Following on from American Airlines’ recent announcement, Atlantic Joint Venture partner British Airways has announced it will begin trialling VeriFLY which is a mobile travel health passport. The trial will begin on 4th February 2021 on all transatlantic routes between London and the United States.

VeriFLY is a mobile app based digital health travel passport which certifies test certificates and any required travel documentation to ensure the traveller complies with all entry requirements at their destination. Users of the app benefit from peace of mind before travel and fast track at the airport. Passengers will have a choice as to whether they use the VeriFLY app and customers will continue to be able to evidence they meet the US entry requirements at check-in.

British Airways is the first airline in the UK to trial the use of a mobile travel health passport for customers travelling from London. It will also be the only airline outside the US to offer its customers the opportunity to trial VeriFLY.

Through these trials, we hope to provide travellers and governments on both sides of the Atlantic with the tools and the reassurance they need to make safe travel possible.”
