Following the demise of franchise carrier Stobart Air, Aer Lingus Regional has put in place an alternative timetable for its clients.
Stobart Air had been operating Aer Lingus Regional, but the carrier informed Aer Lingus late on Friday that it would be halting operations with immediate effect.
From tomorrow, Aer Lingus teams will be working on alternate flying operations to offer service to Aer Lingus Regional clients.
For at least this week, Aer Lingus will operate five of the 12 flights impacted, while BA City Flyer will fly two.
Aer Lingus said, “Alternative operations for the outstanding routes are still being determined. All impacted customers are being contacted directly and offered details of an alternative flight where feasible. All impacted customers also have the option of a full refund.”
Aer Lingus would like to express its regret to Aer Lingus Regional customers who have been impacted by Stobart Air’s closure.
The following routes will be operated by Aer Lingus:
Dublin-Edinburgh, Dublin-Man, Belfast-Manchester, Belfast City-Birmingham, and Belfast City-Edinburgh are all variations on the same theme.
Belfast City-Exeter and Belfast City-Leeds Bradford will be served by BA City Flyer.
Alternative flights are being offered to passengers scheduled to fly on the Belfast-East Midlands, Dublin-Glasgow, and Dublin-Newquay routes.
Irish domestic routes from Dublin to Kerry and Donegal continue to be questioned.
Aer Lingus was supposed to replace Stobart Air with a new regional airline next year, but it’s unclear how quickly that will happen now.
